Central America and Mexico Overview

With coastline on both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, Central America boasts a variety of mostly remote cruising territories. The best time of year for yacht charters runs from November to May, outside of hurricane season.

In the western Caribbean, Belize hosts bareboat charters and extraordinary diving. Roatan and the other Bay Islands of Honduras are often compared to the Eastern Caribbean before commercialization. The San Blas islands of Panama are cruising sailors’ favourites, south of the hurricane belt, not far from the Panama Canal.

Navigation can be challenging due to the reefs, stiff winds, and currents. Charters operate out of Belize, Panama, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
